intend的基本含义是“意欲,打算”,指把注意力集中在某一确定要完成的事或达到的明确目的上,也可表示一心想要某人或某事服务于或达到某一目的。
intend多用作及物动词。其后可接名词、动名词、动词不定式或由that引导的从句作宾语,也可接由“to be/as+ n. ”或动词不定式充当补足语的复合宾语。有时还可以接双宾语,其间接宾语可转化为介词for的宾语。可用于被动结构。
